THE LATEST BUILD:

Fern Cabin at Shoreview Meadows, Two Harbors, MN

Element North recently completed construction of a 600 square foot cabin for Shoreview Natives, a native plant nursery, located near Two Harbors, MN. The custom built, post and beam, structure will serve as a vacation rental. It sleeps up to four people between a bedroom and loft and the interior space also includes a kitchen and living room. The exterior includes two decks with access to an Element North built sauna and outhouse. Visit the AirBNB listing for more pictures and information.

DESIGN & BUILD PROCESS

Element North uses a multi-phased project management process structured to provide our clients with transparency and clarity. Our goal is to communicate clearly and to deliver a final product that exceeds the expectations of our clients. During this process, we strive to do work we enjoy while taking pride in the work we complete. We have faith in the quality of our craftsmanship because of our high standards and expectations. DANE MARK

Co-Founder/General Contractor Lead

Dane got his start in the building trades working on a sawmill in Colorado and later built his own house from the ground up in Clover Valley, Minnesota. Those early experiences gave him a deep, practical foundation in the full range of construction, from foundations and framing to finish work and site challenges unique to northern climates.

A licensed residential construction general contractor (BC810208), Dane grew up in New Hampshire and Colorado alongside his dad and brother in the construction industry.

His current passion is the pursuit of craftsman level quality through timber framing and hybrid construction techniques. He brings that hands on background and broad expertise to every Element North project, focusing on high quality, efficient, climate resilient structures that honor the northern Minnesota landscape and deliver lasting value.

BLANE TETREAULT

Co-Founder/Operations Lead

Blane grew up in a construction family - his grandparents owned a construction company in Sturgis, S.D. and his dad managed lumber yards in the Black Hills.

After completing a degree in architectural computer-aided-drafting, he worked as a drafter for a midwestern lumber supplier. Later, he completed degrees in marketing management and public relations.

Blane worked for Two Harbors Construction & Remodeling for a number of years remodeling homes and building decks. Along the way, he connected with a number of fellow trades people from the area who now serve as resources and colleagues.

Blane resides in Duluth Township with his wife and two daugthers. He is passionate about improving their forever property by renovating his home and applying permaculture principles to his land.
