OUR MISSION

Mission Statement:

Element North Design & Build exists to design and build enduring spaces that are rooted in craftsmanship, guided by thoughtful design, and inspired by the North. We create high-quality, efficient structures that honor the landscape, withstand the climate, and provide lasting value through exceptional service, responsible construction, and attention to every detail.

Vision Statement:

To be northern Minnesota's trusted leader in thoughtful design and exceptional craftsmanship, creating buildings that enrich lives, strengthen communities, and endure for generations. We envision a built environment where every structure is purposefully designed, responsibly constructed, and deeply connected to the landscape, reflecting a commitment to quality, sustainability, and timeless design.

PORTFOLIO

Our primary focus is small home and cabin new construction. However, we also build custom saunas, green houses, decks, fences, and other structures. Here are examples of our work:

DESIGN & BUILD PROCESS

Element North uses a multi-phased project management process structured to provide our clients with transparency and clarity. Our goal is to communicate clearly and to deliver a final product that exceeds the expectations of our clients. During this process, we strive to do work we enjoy while taking pride in the work we complete. We have faith in the quality of our craftsmanship because of our high standards and expectations. It all starts with a well-organized plan.

DANE MARK

Co-Founder/General Contractor Lead

Dane is a licensed construction contractor (license #IR816878) he grew up in New Hampshire and Colorado alongside his dad and brother who work in the construction industry.

BLANE TETREAULT

Co-Founder/Operations Officer

Blane grew up in a construction family - his grandparents owned a construction company in Sturgis, S.D. and his dad managed lumber yards in the Black Hills.

After completing a degree in architectural computer-aided-drafting, he worked as a drafter for a midwestern lumber supplier. Later, he completed degrees in marketing management and public relations.

Blane worked for Two Harbors Construction & Remodeling for a number of years remodeling homes and building decks. Along the way, he connected with a number of fellow trades people from the area who now serve as resources and colleagues.

Blane resides in Duluth Township with his wife and two daugthers. He is passionate about improving their forever property by renovating his home and applying permaculture principles to his land.
